The '9' stands for 9 parts pure gold out of a total of 24 parts. Genuine 9kt Gold jewellery is often stamped with a 375 hallmark, which represents that 37.5% purity percentage.
How does 9kt compare to 18kt Gold?
The main difference is gold content! 9kt is 37.5% gold, while 18kt is 75% gold. Because of this, there is a slight difference in colour – 9kt gold appears paler than 18kt gold. The added metals in 9kt Gold help with durability and wearability. Because of the higher percentage of gold content, 18kt Gold is more expensive than 9kt Gold.
